Andre Ferreira – Roofing Contractor in Norwalk CT

A little about myself.

At the age of 16, my father Naas took me out of school to work on roofing projects amongst the other laborers. I was happy to be out of a class environment where I wasn’t thriving and enjoyed every minute of being on a roof.

Growing Up Fast.

I quickly became a man and learned the techniques of the roofing system they were using. It wasn’t long, and I was handling some of the smaller roofing projects by myself. At the time my father was still improving a particular roofing techniques that later would become a very key ingredient to the Two Ply Roofing System that we now use.
I finally moved up in the business and 2014 became co-owners with my brother Erik, of Commercial Roof USA.

Copper Specialist

Since then I also have learned to copper work. I have acquired the knowledge and experience to install high-end gutters, and I am a true copper-smith. I fabricate special flashing and copper standing seams. It takes a particular person to a work of art working with copper. I pride myself to provide the highest quality copper roof work.
Slate Roof Specialist
I also install slate roofs. I have learned the craft of how to cut and install slate roofs the old fashioned way. I use a sharp edged hammer to cut the slate tiles and make the holes for the nails.

Slate Roof Specialist

This method takes time but produces a far better looking roof than slate cut with a saw or grinder.
With all the different facets of roofing, I had to learn other kinds of crafts, including carpentry and plumbing.
My specialty projects are those that requires high skill and perfection. This type of project takes time and patience to accomplish the necessary precision, and I thrive doing it.

Erik Ferreira – Roofing Contractor

Erik Ferreira - Roofing Contractor in Norwalk CT

Erik Ferreira – Owner of Commercial Roof USA

I have been a roofing contractor for over seven years. I learned about roofing when I was a teenager shooting the videos for my father’s roofing business, Flat Roof Doctor. As time went by, I was put to work during school holidays and so got my roofing experience.

My father, Naas, have developed a roofing system that exceeds the longevity and quality of any other roofing system on the market today.

This system is a Two Ply Modified Bitumen Torch Down Rubber Roof that is fused together. It’s thicker than any other roofing material, and then ceramic granules are embedded on the surface to give it the needed protection against harmful UV’s.

Erik – Roofing Contractor and Consultant

With the experience and knowledge, I gained from working with my father; I provide the best roofing system that anyone can install. The years of trial and errors are over. I  can take any commercial roof and provide you with the best option and very competitive pricing. Although the materials used to Install a Two-Ply Rubber roof cost more than that of single ply roofing systems, the installation cost is considerable less.

Call me for a Free Consultation and Estimate for your next roofing project.

Learning Experience

There is nothing better than learning first hand from someone that has been through all the trials that roofing could throw at him. My father Naas, had to learn and formulate techniques that were not available to him at the time. After many failures of installing a rubber torch down roof, he finally came up and improved techniques and products that worked the best. Today we have a roofing system that outperforms all other roofing systems.

About Us – Stamford Roofing Contractor

Our Beginnings…

Commercial Roof USA is a family-owned and operated roofing business. For the last 30 years we have specialized in the installation of rubber roofing for both commercial and residential properties in Connecticut, New York, and now, in Pennsylvania.

My name is Naas Ferreira. My late wife, Mia, and I arrived in the United States, from South Africa, in the mid-1980s and started a flat roofing business in Norwalk, Connecticut. At that time our company name was Flat Roof DoctorDuring the early and mid-1990s, Mia and I began a family and had 3 wonderful boys. Later, two beautiful girls would complete our family.

My very first flat roof installation was for a well-known man named, William F. Buckley, a conservative commentator and founder of the National Review magazine. At that time, flat roof contractors were transitioning from the Tar and Kettle roofing systems to rubber membranes, however, the rubber roof industry was experiencing some problems with the bonding of rubber to metal. We developed a technique that secured rubber to metal, which was a breakthrough, and a remedy to the problem.

We pioneered the use of rubber membranes in Fairfield County, Connecticut; when other roofing contractors were still installing Hot-Tar-and-Gravel roofs, we began using our 2 ply Modified Bitumen Torch Down Roofing System, and never looked back. Since then our technique has evolved, and has become a system that is far more superior than any other roofing system.

As the business grew, my 3 sons took an interest and began helping me on holidays and during their summer breaks from school. Today, Team Ferreira has been fortunate enough to have expanded the business to New York and Pennsylvania locations.

Soon, a daughter will join Team Ferreira, to become the executive assistant (the boss) with the entire Team’s blessing.

Learning a Trade at a Young Age

From a young age, the three boys helped on roofing projects during their school vacations. These projects have taught them a trade that entails problem-solving, responsibility, and accountability in the real-world. The picture shows Andre at 16 years old working as a team member.

Advantages of Torch Down Rubber Roofs

The video below describes the advantages of a Modified Bitumen (MB) Torch Down Rubber Roof. It is the best roofing material and method that can be installed on commercial flat roofs, to date.  Like EPDM, MB has been used since the late 1960s. Unlike EPDM, the rubber roof material is made from modified asphalt and single-ply bitumen membranes can be combined to create a 2 ply system with which we offer a 40-year warranty.

Where it all began

Flat roof Doctor Truck

At the age of 19, Dos arrived in the USA in the winter of 1986 from Cape Town South Africa. He wanted to travel and experience America for a year and knew of a fellow South African, Naas Ferreira, who was already in Norwalk Connecticut.

After Dos made arrangements to stay with Naas, he soon bought a van and set out with a couple of buddies to begin his tour of America, but a month later, the trip ended for financial reasons.

Having studied as a metal and wood craftsman back in Cape Town, Naas took Dos under his wing and they went to work in the construction and remodeling business. A couple years later, Dos went on to start his own bathroom and kitchen remodeling business.

In 1991, Dos was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church where he met, and later married, Patty. In 1996, Dos felt a desire to further his Bible studies and the couple moved to Longview, Texas. Dos studied at the Longview Bible College and after his studies and service, he became the Dean of Students.

After several years of serving in the ministry at the Longview Baptist Temple and at the Longview Bible College, his family began to grow. To support his growing family and to continue worldwide missionary work, Dos began Clean Cut Roofing.

Currently, Clean Cut Roofing employs over 40 people qualified in roofing and construction and servicing all of Northeast Texas. About three years ago, Dos decided to expand his business and has gotten involved in new house builds.

Clean Cut Roofing consists of a metal shop run by an esteemed metal fabricator, a fleet of trucks with a full-time mechanic, a sales team of 3, and crew managers who organize on-site roofing installations.

Recently, Dos’ eldest son became a licensed electrician and manages the construction of new homes, he also manages the Clean Cut Roofing website.

Testimonials

Description Of Work: We own a business and have a parking lot in the back. Our son was getting married and we were having a reception at our place. So were giving the parking lot re-striped by Clean Cut Roofing. We had our sidewalks and driveways power washed.

Member Comments: We did use Clean Cut Roofing they also have a service that does parking lot striping and power washing parking lots and stuff. It’s part of Clean Cut but it’s a separate part. We were very pleased with them. It cost us $100. We were very pleased. They were real attentive, real, the guy that did the work was really nice and knowledgeable and friendly. Wanted to make sure that what he did was pleasing to us and if he could do more. Give them a shot, you could be very pleased. Real friendly down to earth Christian people.

Terry Turner

10 minutes after I hit the send button to set up an appointment, Jim from Clean Cut Roofing called me and we made an appointment for the same day. Clean Cut and Jim delivered on every point they promised me. The wind damage to my roof, the insurance claim, and the replacement of my roof by Clean Cut all occurred during the holiday season of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year…and still Clean Cut Roofing delivered a brand new roof. The crew was very professional, (and they WERE clean cut guys), very polite, never made a mess in my yard, were mindful of our needs to get in and out of our driveway and garage (with holiday visitors and guests coming and going) and the quality and swiftness of their work was fantastic. The same day the job was complete, Clean Cut provided all the documents I needed for my insurance company. I highly recommend Clean Cut Roofing to anyone. BTW, I am a licensed commercial and residential building contractor with 38 years experience in all phases of construction…believe me, these guys are pros…these guys are the ones you want to roof your house.

John F. of Longview, Tx

It was a pleasure dealing with you and Clean Cut Roofing. All my roofing needs and request were met with outstanding customer service. I really appreciate you coming by to assist with all questions and concerns that surfaced during the roofing process. Thanks for being 100% truthful and easy to deal with during this process. If I ever need a new roof again, you and your company will be the first to get the call.

Vida N. of Longview, Tx

Comments: The owner of Clean Cut Roofing, Dos, came out to our home to look at the site and estimate what needed to be done. He said he would first have his workers take a conservative approach. If that did not fix the problem (roof leakiing) then he would do a comprehensive fix. He was very professional and gave us a written estimate for the work. When we contracted for it, he said we did not have to pay until the weather proved the problem had been solved, even if we had to wait for two to six weeks for a good storm to test it. His workers are polite and professional. They clean up every scrap of work material before they leave.

Choosing a Roofing Company

There are many roofing companies to choose from. In your search for a flat roof contractor, you will find that EPDM and TPO quotes are quite appealing, but you will need to remember that those quotes are for single-ply rubber membranes that puncture easily, have adhesives that fail at the seams, and shrink and degrade from harmful ultraviolet light.
